Here at Healthshop101.com, we offer three kinds of lavender essential oils.

Young Living lavender oil is the first oil that I was introduced to in 1993.  I met with Gary young for several seminars and learned the basics of essential oils.  At that time , the lavender was from France. Gary sought to create quality and began to grow lavender here in Utah. Now we have Lavender Days in Mona once a year.

Healthshop101   Lavender oil is high quality lavender oil with out the mark up of multilevel marketing. This oil comes from the same sources as other top quality lavender oils, but is not marketed through a membership club or MLM so is can be sold to the public with out paying people 7 layers deep.

DoTerra Lavender Oil is one of the newest lavender oils we have. Their  claim to fame is extensive testing to ensure quality.

Lavender oil is a soothing oil with a flowery smell. Lavender oil in a Therapeutic-grade is highly used for the  skin and beauty.Lavender may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations. The French scientist René Gattefossé  discover these properties when he was severely burned in a laboratory explosion. Lavender may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods. But to me, I don’t care for  the taste and would not use it in cooking. But.. THAT IS JUST ME!

As a side note, lavender oil that is not therapeutic is only for candles and smelling. If applied to the skin, these impure oils will cause a rash and do not have the power to help with burns and bites. Most of the time these oils can be “found out”   by their low price. A lavender oil under $5 would fit this category. These are usually purchased in craft stores or grocery stores. Health food stores tend to have medium to high grade lavender.
